用料  

3/4-1 cup(140g) plain flour
pinch of salt & pepper
1-2 eggs (2 make a richer batter)
300ml milk (or half water half milk)
6-8 mediu or small sausages,prick

Toad in the Hole的做法  

  1. Preheat oven to 220c.(200fan forced)
    In a mixing bowl
    sift 3/4-1 cup plain four&salt&pepper
    make a well

  2. add 1-2 eggs
    Gradually pour in 200-300ml milk: smooth batter.
    (1tbsp mustard)  
    Rest

  3. In a shallow roasting tin:
    add 1tbsp olive oil: oven-smoking hot
    Arrange sausages :oven 10 mins(turn halfway)
    pour batter : oven 25-30 minutes--risen& golden.
    (don't open the oven door in the early stage)

  4. serve with onion gravy & vegetables

  5. Onion gravy:
    Butter and oil
    Onion :10-15min (Sugar)
    Flour
    Red wine / white wine
    Beef stock/ chicken stock
    (Worceshire sauce)
    Season
    (Herb)
